How To Create The Ideal Listing
Select an appropriate category.
Think about how buyers would search for an item. Browse the listings to see which detailed categories items like yours are listed in. Try to avoid listing in 'other' categories as they generate fewer bids. If your item will fit into 2 categories, then list in a second category. This is a free optional upgrade no matter what store option you have. If the appropriate category can't be found, you can use the 'Suggest A Category' link.
Write a descriptive title.
Imagine you're the buyer. What information would you type in to search for your item? Focus on key search words that let buyers find your item fast. Examples include brand, size, colour, model numbers etc. Don't waste space with adjectives - buyers rarely search for 'beautiful'.
Always include photos.
A picture is worth a thousand words and is the best way of convincing potential buyers to bid. Adding clear, uncluttered pictures will show buyers exactly what you are selling and typically increases your chances of selling. You can upload upto 5 photos for free on IWAC. Take photos of the item from different angles.
Write a clear item description.
Make sure that your description provides buyers with all of the information they need. Include information such as brand, age, condition, etc. And, be honest - disclosing imperfections will prevent misunderstandings later. Also include lots of keywords that describe the item, this will help for better search engine results and will therefore increase your items exposure on the internet.
Set the right price.
Setting the correct price is crucial to getting and maintaining sales. Of course you need to set a price for you to make a profit, but overprice the item and you risk loosing potential sales. Do some research on the current market of your items. Also you can research sellers that sell similar items to you.
Give postage and payment info.
Make sure to specify the forms of payment you accept, the postage costs and the possible conditions of return. Including exact postage costs will help your potential buyers to understand the total price of the item, and explaining payment options is also helpful. Buyers want a safe and easy way to pay so consider accepting an online payment system such as PayPal, Nochex and Google Checkout. To save a little time you can fill in the 'Shipping Information Page' in your store and include a link to that page within your items description.
